Maintaining a property takes more than just cleaning, paying close attention to the defects, and regularly repairing the elements that require assistance. Tips for Keeping Your Property Away From Any Deformity -

1. Wipe out the dust and dirt
  • Start by removing loose dust or debris with a soft-bristled broom or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush extension.
  • Use a sponge or a soft cloth dampened with warm water to wipe down the walls. Avoid using too much water, which can damage the paint or wallpaper.
  • Add a mild dish soap or a gentle cleaning solution to the water for stubborn stains or dirt. Test the solution in an inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't damage the wall.
  • Work in small sections and frequently rinse the sponge or cloth to avoid spreading dirt or grime.
  • After cleaning, use a dry cloth or a towel to wipe down the walls and remove any excess moisture.
  • Finally, if your walls are filthy or you have allergies or respiratory issues, consider wearing a mask or a HEPA filter to prevent dust from getting into the air.

2. Keep Your Walls Stainless
  • To keep your wall away from stains, check the texture and paint used on the walls first. Be very careful while cleaning your walls, as overly rubbing can cause a permanent stain or paint removal. Always use water and a clean sponge while whipping the wall.
  • Additional Tips: Test the painted walls before cleaning. The glossy and semi-glossy walls are safe to clean. If you find the paint chalking off on the sponge, don't scrub it.

3. Repainting the Old Painted Walls
  • Maintenance: Over time, painted walls can become faded, chipped, or dirty. Repainting helps maintain the walls' appearance and protects them from further damage.
  • Aesthetics: Repainting old walls can give your space a fresh look, update the color scheme, and even increase your property's value.
  • Hygiene: Over time, walls can accumulate dirt, dust, and even mold. Repainting the walls can create a healthier environment by removing these contaminants.
  • Protection: Repainting can also help to protect the walls from moisture, which can lead to mold and other forms of damage. This is particularly important in areas with high humidity levels.

4. Repair the Damage
  • Assess the damage: Before starting any repairs, assess the extent of the damage. Is it a small hole, a large crack, or something in between? This will determine the materials and techniques you'll need for the repair.
  • Gather materials: Depending on the type of damage, you may need spackle or joint compound, sandpaper, a putty knife, drywall tape, paint, and other tools and materials.
  • Prepare the area: Clean the damaged area thoroughly and remove any loose debris or flaking paint. If necessary, apply drywall tape to the damaged area to reinforce it.
  • Apply spackle or joint compound: Apply a small amount of spackle or joint compound to the damaged area, using a putty knife to smooth it out. Allow it to dry completely, then sand it down until smooth.
  • Paint the area: Once the spackle or joint compound is dry and smooth, you can paint over the area to match the surrounding wall.

Follow all the mentioned steps to keep your property walls in the best condition. Walls tell the story of your property — by maintaining your walls, you are setting the tone of your property. Walls speak a lot about the people living in them, so make sure your walls are well-maintained.
